q  PAYMENTS:

The annual $25 registration fee is due the first lesson of the school year.  Post-dated cheques are also due upon the first lesson of each semester.

q  COMMUNICATION:

Voicemail or email will be appreciated during lesson sessions.  We will respond as soon as possible. In addition, please notify us of any family or school problems, as well as time consuming family activities, which may be stressful to your child.  Your child’s well-being is definitely a part of our concern.

q  EMERGENCY WEATHER POLICY:

In the event of heavy snow, we will call.  If things are treacherous we may cancel lessons.  If the later happens, we will call you and you will be entitled to a make-up lesson at a later date.

q  LESSON SCHEDULING:

Lessons are scheduled on a first call, first served basis. Please choose that is best for you during the entire semester.  Rescheduling is difficult once the semester begins and make-ups are attempted, not guaranteed.  In addition, continuity and consistency with lesson day/time will allow you to get the most out of your lessons. Continuity and consistency in attendance allows you the most benefit out of each lesson.

q  LESSON TIME:

Please arrive at your designated lesson time.  If you arrive early, please wait quietly in waiting area so you don’t disturb lessons that may be in process.  Please understand that lessons are about 25 – 28 minutes in length. That allows time for students to put gear away.

q  LATE POLICY:

If you are late, your lesson time will be shortened accordingly.  The instructor will wait for at least fifteen minutes before considering the student absent.  If the instructor is late, or absent, a make-up lesson will be scheduled at a later date.

q  CANCELLATION POLICY:

The student is responsible to attend all scheduled lessons. When scheduling lessons time, expect that time to be reserved for you all year.  Alternate lesson dates and times are usually non-existent once the school year begins.  When a conflict occurs and it is  prior to 24-hour advance notice, we will try to accommodate your request for rescheduling.  However, lessons cancelled or missed without 24-hour notice will not be rescheduled.  To better assure rescheduling, call early, as soon as you know of a potential time conflict.  If possible, lessons may be rescheduled the same week or doubled up at a later time.  If the instructor must cancel a lesson, it will be rescheduled in the same way.  Each situation is decided on its own merits.  Caution: Frequent cancellations may be cause to cancel this Contract.

q  PRACTICE:

Plan a regular time for DAILY practice.   Ideally, students should practice 6 days a week; 15-30 minutes a day to make the most out of your guitar lessons for beginners, 45-60 minutes a day for advanced students.  Practice tips can be found on our website at:

http://www.psalmsinger.com/guitar/tips.html.

q  LESSON TERMINATION POLICY:

If it is necessary to discontinue lessons, a 4-WEEK notice must be given so that we have the opportunity to find another student for that time slot. Payment will be required for those 4 lessons whether or not the lessons are attended. Lessons that are terminated in the last month of the semester, will NOT be refunded. Any remaining post date cheques will be returned or shredded.

q  TUITION PAYMENTS:

Tuition includes private lesson time, daily preparation time, time spent searching for new music and materials. Tuition does not include cost of music, books, study materials or supplies which must be purchased by the student.  (For further details please see Payment section above.)

**Special payment arrangements may be available on an individual basis.

***A fee of $30.00 will be assessed for NSF cheques.
