The Witness Of The Spirit

1 Corinthians 12:3

The name of Jesus is the most precious and powerful name ever spoken; yet is often used carelessly and profanely.  Have you ever noticed how the name of Jesus, or God is used as a curse or oath spoken in anger?

When the Holy Spirit comes into our lives it is a completely different story.  Then we know, by the witness of the Holy Spirit in our hearts, that Jesus is indeed LORD.  (Ephesians 1:13,14; 1 John 4:1-4)

When we have the witness of the Spirit, we know Jesus as Lord.  When we don't, we tend to curse Him.  The way of the Lord is the way of blessing.  The way of the enemy brings cursing.  (See Deuteronomy 28-30)

Can you think of some examples of how you have seen this in your own experience?  Did you used to curse the name of God?  When did that change and why?  How does it make you feel when you hear others curse God?
