Jesus Is Lord Even after Jesus had healed the man born blind in John 9, the Pharisees (religious leaders of Jesus day) rejected the healing and the healer. It would have been quite easy for the rejected man to lick his internal wounds and say, "religious people are cruel and ridiculous." But when Jesus found the man, he had one question. "Do you believe in the Son of Man?" Did Jesus not know what had just happened? Of course He did. But the question that Jesus had for that man was, "who am I?" We hear a great deal about how the church has kicked its wounded. We hear a great deal about the pain and suffering and anger against the church, and that Christians have against one another. As painful and real as all that is, there is one basic question we all have to answer. I believe its the question we are going to hear when we stand before the Lord. Who is Jesus, and what have I done with Him. Forgiveness, reconciliation and restoration are the central themes of God's word. As much as He has forgiven us, must we not forgive one another? We need to believe for the best in one another, and trust the heart of Jesus at work in one another. Let the Lord do the judging. Who is Jesus to you? |
