Welcome to this section of my website.  In recent months there have been some very deep things that the Lord has been doing in His people to prepare us for His return.  Part of that is that many are taking a fresh look at the subject of Spiritual Gifts, or The Gifts of the Spirit.  So in the next few weeks I will be making some changes in this section of my site that will better reflect what we have come to learn.

Having sat under the teaching of two men of God who I believe to be Apostle/Prophet/Teachers, I have come to see that my view of the Gifts has been incomplete.  Those men are Harold Eberle of Worldcast Ministries, author of several books including The Complete Wineskin, and Rob Parker, founder of Canada's National House of Prayer.  Also as my wife and I have been planted at New Life Church, we have come to see that we have really been severely limiting the power of God in our lives.  Much of what we have done in the past has been from a good heart motivation, but we have been limited by a lack of understanding.

I will tell you that in my life, there are two passions.  Many of you can echo this.  First, I am hungry to experience God.  Two is to see the equipping of the saints so they too can experience God.  The Lord wants to be intimately involved in every circumstance of each of our lives.

The Lord does not dwell in temples made with human hands.  He dwells in temples made with His OWN hands.  We are His temple.  We are His Body.  Each and every part of His Body is absolutely essential.

We need to seek the plan of God for His people as a whole.  Yes there is a place in all of us that wants significance and fulfillment in our lives.  But more importantly, we need to be walking in the will of God for His kingdom.  That is why I believe that understanding the "How the Body Works" is vital for us as Christians.

The evidence of those who are disciples of Jesus is love (John 13:34-35).  That is the place to start.  I am not saying I am the great "lover".  I am certainly not saying that I live the principles in the study to the full.  But its the desire of my heart, the passion of my life to hear God, be a worshipper who experiences God, walking in His anointing and authority, giving the gifts that He has given me to the Body in love for the common good of His people.

These pages are condensed from the original version for student study guides.  A more complete version is available.  Please feel free to take time to contact me with your comments and input.

Many volumes have been written on the subject.  There are few issues that have brought more confusion to the Body of Christ than Spiritual Gifts. It's interesting that Paul would begin this section of his writings with the statement, "Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant."  Ignorance and division have been evident in the very place where God through Paul was teaching love, knowledge and unity in the Body.  That this is a device of the enemy should be obvious.  I pray that the Lord would give clarity and insight, and that there would be insight from Him.  God wants us to understand the gifts that he has given us, and He wants us to live in them for His glory.

It seems clear that there have been many divisions in churches and denominations of Christians about the Gifts of the Spirit.  It's interesting that divisions seem to center around two issues;

bullet Expression of Worship (musical styles),
bullet and Spiritual Gifts.

All too often Christians rejected one another because of disagreements, when clearly the heart of Jesus in His final prayer for believers was for unity and love. (See John 17:20-23)

It is for this reason, among others that I have been compelled to go to the scriptures and take a fresh look the the Gifts.  In opening the Word, I discovered that Paul's emphasis is not the gifts, but rather the Giver of the Gifts. Jesus is the Head and Source of the gifts.  This study is a verse by verse look at 1 Corinthians 12 and 13, and related passages (especially Ephesians 4 and Romans 12)  Be like the  Bereans, and test these things for yourself, and see whether or not they are true.
