Good And Evil Dwell Together

(Matthew 13:24-43)

There are many reasons that some might feel justified in separating themselves from Christians.  The fact that these reasons exist should really come as no surprise. The Lord said it would be that way.  Recall the parable Jesus spoke of the wheat and the tares in  Matthew 13:24-30.  Jesus went on to interpret this parable by explaining that the weeds were to stay right there with the wheat, and would be sorted at the harvest.  (Matthew 13:37-43)  God has called us to sow seed, not pull weeds.

There is no doubt about it, good and evil dwell together, and God is going to sort it out at the time of the harvest.  Just because evil is present in a "church" does not give one an excuse to reject God!  By saying in one's heart, "religious people have hurt me and therefore I am going to reject the Lord", the potential exists to make the mistake that would be regretted for all eternity.  The focus is, and must always be Jesus.
